Electronics Recycling Made Easy In Aurora

This year’s collection events will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Customer Service Center located at 3770 McCoy Drive, Aurora.

Eligible electronics that will be collected include monitors, computers (both PCs and Macs), laptops, televisions, printers, fax machines, scanners, computer accessories (mouses, keyboards and modems), video game consoles, telephones, answering machines, cell phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), MP3 players, cameras, camcorders, servers and networking equipment, DVD players, stereos, and VCRs.  Microwaves are the only kitchen appliances accepted for recycling.

SUNDAYS IN THE PARLOR - POETRY

The small poems of the little girl, and many others by Aurorans of every era, will be presented at 1:30pm at “Sundays in the Parlor – Poetry” at the Tanner House Museum, 305 Cedar St, 60506 on June 8, 2014.  Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for historical society members.  It includes a 3pm guided tour of the Tanner House.

Phillips Park Zoo Closed

Phillips Park Zoo will be closed on Monday, June 9 and Tuesday, June 10, while workers complete needed repairs to blacktop paths throughout the zoo.

During the closure, zoo staff will still be on hand to care for the animals, but the zoo will be closed to the public.

Signs will also be posted at Phillips Park and the Stover Visitors Center, alerting visitors to the closure.
