The City of Aurora encourages the participation of businesses owned by minorities, women, and disabled persons (MWDP) in the city’s procurement process.

What are the criteria?

Be certified or self-declared

We will recognize vendors with MWDP status from the following certified programs and agencies as well as vendors that are self-declared (without certification): 

  • Illinois Unified Certification Program
  • Illinois Department of Central Management Services Business Enterprise Program
  • Illinois Department of Transportation, Doing Business
  • Women's Business Development Center

Submit a vendor application packet and a current MWDP certificate to the city’s Purchasing Office

If you are certified by one of the agencies listed, submit your certification with your Vendor Application Form. For more information concerning certification programs, please contact one of the agencies mentioned.

Minorities, Women and Disabled Persons Vendor Directory

The directory contains businesses that have either self-declared their MWDP status or have been certified by a qualifying agency. The City of Aurora does not operate its own certification program.

Companies looking for subcontracting opportunities on city projects are not prohibited from utilizing businesses not listed in this directory.

Businesses wanting to be listed in the directory must complete a Vendor Application Packet.
