Thinking about buying a home? Great news! The City of Aurora partners with many great organizations to bring you assistance. Following are two examples:

Choose Aurora Down Payment Assistance Grant

Funded by the the City of Aurora's Community Development Block Grant, this program offers grants of $2,000 in downpayment and closing cost assistance to persons or families earning at or below 80% of the Kane County Area Media Income (or $60,800 for a family of four in 2015) and who choose to purchase their home in the City. Five year legal covenants for homeownership and maintenance will apply. For more details, please contact the City of Aurora Neighborhood Redevelopment Division at the number listed on the right.

Homebuyer & Rehabilitation Program

Funded by the Illinois Housing Development Authority and administered by the Joseph Corporation, this program offers up to $5,000 in down payment and closing cost assistance plus $20,000 in rehabilitation assistance as a forgivable loan package to persons or families earning at or below 80% of the Kane County Area Median Income (or $60,800 for a family of four in 2015). Priority will be given to homes in the City's Near Eastside Neighborhood.
